Offline selling

The internet drops. The counter doesn't.

The Windows app keeps an encrypted local copy of prices, customers and recent invoices. Sales are priced with the same tax engine as the server and uploaded when the connection returns.

What you get

Same maths as the server
The desktop app imports the server's own tax engine. Nothing is re-implemented, so the offline slip matches the final invoice.
An OFFLINE slip
The customer gets a slip with a provisional number. On upload, the invoice records it as its reference so you can match the two.
Paid in full
Offline sales are taken in full, because nothing can be refused after goods have left.
Never silently dropped
If a sale is refused on upload (the unit was sold elsewhere, a discount was over the limit), it stays and is flagged Needs attention.
Returns and payments too
Returns and customer payments queue offline the same way.
Encrypted on the PC
The local copy is encrypted, and the key is held in the Windows credential store.
